To facilitate and assure consistency in search, voting, or posting we created an Index.
The Regions page introduces you to a sequence of selections that leads to the available options. You can use this approach to browse for information or to initiate the posting of a new proposal. Note that our index was designed to support an International Index, yet we will discuss here the branch within the USA architecture.
After selection of Unite States in North America, in the bottom of the page, you can see the posting applicable to the entire Country. You can post a federal proposal directly by selecting the new topic button or you can select a posted listing.
If you click on a listed posting:
the left button will take you directly to the posting;
the right button will allow you to display the posting in a new tab or window.
When you select a State, then you can see in the bottom of the page the proposals requiring that state attention. And the same sequence discussed above now applies to the State.
While soon available to all states, if you click on the Washington State another page will display the WA Counties. And the same cycle applies at this level.
There are several tools available to you to locate the proposal you are interested.
Go to the home page. Right now you will see an article listing the posting under the USA index and the Washington State index.
Under the Vote menu, you can select Browse or Search.
The Browse option will take to the Global Regions, under which you can select a Country. In the bottom of the page, you can see the posting requiring federal attention.
If you select a State, then you see in the bottom of the page the proposals requiring state attention.
If you did select the Washington State, you will see a list of Counties and if there was any proposal pertinent to this County, a list would appear in the bottom of the page. Soon there will be listings for counties under each State.
If you select Search you have several options. The keyword may include the category if you also select the “Search entire posts” on the window next to the keyword.
NOTE: If you vote on a proposal outside the State or County for which the proposal was written, you actually initiate equivalent action in your State or County because the votes will be tabulated geographically. Thus, this simple feature amplifies the reach of any proposal.
It is easier if you view the selected proposal in Treaded mode. Press the Treaded button on the bottom of anyone posting.
The voting process starts with a polling to determine the acceptance of the proposal by the great majority of members. You must be logged in to vote. Go to the top of the posting where you see the Poll boxes. Select your voting preference (usually a YES or a NO) and then press the Vote button. That is it.
You can start from the home page by clicking the Change Box. This will lead you to an article with instructions for the available options. To start a new project or proposal select the green text “go to region.”
Or you may click on the main menu ACT, select “Propose” and then “New Project.” To continue the process, select the green text “go to Region.”
To post a project you must first select a Region (index) for where the posting is applicable, not where you are located. In some instances, depending on the nature of the proposal, you may desire that the proposal should be submitted to both, National and State alike. And that is OK. For example, what you cando in this case is to post as if applicable to US while your description will inform the voter that your proposal is applicable to both, US and the State where the voter is located.
Similarly, by default, if you post a proposal applicable to your State, if voters of other state vote on it, they will be making a decision that is only applicable to their State. The Poll will track the voting by State.
Yet, the simplest way to post a new proposal is to select a posting at the level you want your proposal to be applicable and then click on the ‘NEW TOPIC’ button. For example is you want to post at the US Federal level, select the Anti-lobbyist legislation and click on the ‘NEW TOPIC’ button.
For a posting which must be decided at the Federal Level, you select USA. A new pane opens allowing you to select a State. However, if the posting is applicable to the entire US, then just click on the new topic button to post directly. Otherwise, select a State and then post.
Similarly, if your proposal is only applicable to your County, select the County and then post.
If your proposal gets enough support, then the Public-Voice staff will help you to compose a viable, enforceable referendum to proceed into the next phase which is the online collection of legal signatures authenticating an Initiative, Petition, or Amendment, whichever will be appropriate. We recommend that you send email to family, friends, and contacts to get the initial voting you need. You may also link you posting with other sites.
Bellow the subject you have tools to format the posting text as well as ad a link, video, or map. But most important, when posting a project, you should also add a poll. Browse through the icons to find what you need. After posting the title, press the + to add the options for the polling.
The title of the Poll should indicate what you want for results. Polling for the proposal “Reclaiming Public Television” the intended questions could be:
Title: Public TV or an Alternative?
YES – We should reform TV campaigning
NO – candidates already have equal time rights
Alternate – we should find alternatives.
When something goes wrong, and you do not find the information in the HELP pages, then you should write a Ticket.
Before you do anything else, copy the URL of the page where the problem occurred. Without this information will be quite difficult for the analyst to give you a good response or correct the problem.
Under LOGIN, select Tickets to open a page which will display a page listing My Tickets. If you click on ‘Submit a Ticket’ another pane will open. To prepare the new ticket, you must do the following:
Select the Department you want to communicate with. The current options are Administrators for computing problems or Staff for problems with the content of any page or article.
Then select a Category: If you select 'website enhacements', then you must also select 'low priority' as shown below.
Then select the Priority you expect for the solution of your problem. If your comment is about appearance and ‘goodies’ you think should be considered, select the low priority. If the comment has possible impact on the ability of the site to perform as expected, then select normal. If the problem is handicapping your posting, then select high priority.
You must give write a meaningful title in the Subject Box.
Complete the formulation by writing a clear statement of the problem. Make sure that now you paste here the URL you copied in the beginning of this procedure and then hit the SAVE button.
